Home schooling is very hard to implement. In order to implement it, parents have to sacrifice physically, emotionally and financially. To illustrate, parents, who decided teach their children by themselves, don’t have the pleasure of having time for them while their children are at school. In addition, time is very important to prepare, teach lessons, to organize outside activities and make research to be prepare to teach. Because of the amount of time together, it can be suffocate for parents and children. Since in many families both parents work, is very difficult to implement. Even more, it may not work for some families because of the amount of sacrifice it takes.

 

Home schooling is very expensive. Home schooling can bring many financial problems to parents. In our society, both parents work full time and in some cases work a part time job too. However, in order to teach their children at home instead of at public school, mother or father must stay home as a teacher or they must hire a tutor because just one of them is able to work. If they decide to hire a tutor, that will cost too much money. In addition, parents are responsible to support the expenses that home schooling brings. Those expenses are computer software, materials for projects and the curriculum, which “can cost, on average, approximately $400 per child each year”.

 

Home schooling limited social experience for kids. Children learn social skills through everyday interactions with others. That’s why, children need to meet with others children to develop proper social skills. All children need socialized with others. Since home schooling children study alone at home, they have the disadvantages of lack of opportunities for forming friendships. As a result, they don’t learn how to have relationships with their peers. Even worse, they could end up shy and uncomfortable with other kids. According to a California study by researcher Dr. Brian Ray 92 % of superintendents believe that home learners are emotionally unstable. That is happening because home schooling children don’t have many opportunities to interact with others.

Hello class, I am against homeschooling.  The three main ideas are limited social experience, boring for kids and possible failure.

Homeschooling limited social experience for kids.

Ø  They don’t interact with other kids.

Ø  They don’t learn how to behave in front of other people.

Ø  Could end up shy and uncomfortable with other kids

Homeschooling is very boring for kids.

Ø  Stay at home all day with their parents or tutor

Ø  No extracurricular activities

Ø  Too isolated

Kids who study in homeschooling may fail the admission test to the universities.

Ø  Limited education experience

Ø  Don’t have the benefits of partner’s opinions

Should towns have teen curfew laws?

Teen curfews laws have been implemented in many towns across the United States. Those laws are implemented in an attempt to decrease juvenile crime rate. Even though many towns are thinking in adopted them, those laws are under fire. In many towns debate about if teen curfews should be removed or not are been done. Are teen curfews worth it? There are many reasons why teen curfews should be removed.

First of all, teen curfews laws are very weak. Teens can easily hide from police officers. Even more, there are many excuses that they can give to police officers if they are caught. In addition, those laws could affect teens that work at night or do extracurricular activities such as sports or social clubs. Another weakness of teen curfews is teens who are with an adult are exempted it. The problem is, not all adults are responsible or mature to make sure that a teen behaves in a right way. To illustrate, my sister Laura, who is 16 years old, works until 10:30 Pm. if Paterson adopts teen curfews laws, she will broke the law every day.

Another reason is that teen curfews laws vary from a town to other. Many teens need to travel to another town to work. For example, in one town, teens under 16 years old may have a curfew from 11:30 Pm, and in another town, which is five minute away, teens may have a curfew from 10:30Pm. 15 years old who lives in one in those towns and works in the other town may risk breaking curfews because of the differences between both towns. Teen curfews may affect teens who work at night.

Furthermore, teen curfews are ineffective. Towns set curfews because they believe that the crime will decrease if teen are out of the streets at night. That is wrong. The crime rate in towns which have adopted curfews is the same. Instead of set curfews, towns should open activities to keep teens busy during the night. Involving teens in activities such as baseball, basketball and dance gives bored teenagers something to do during the night instead of commit crimes.

Proponents to teen curfews said that the crime rate will decrease if they keep teens out of the streets. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. Towns which set curfews reported that the juvenile crime rate is still the same. Curfews instead to be a solution to juvenile crime, have become in a problem. Since teens have to stay home at night, they have too much free time. As a result, they usually break the curfews. Even worse, most of the teens with too much free time, usually commit crime frequently. Towns should create more activities to keep teens busy instead of set curfews. Because curfews bring more problems than benefits, it should be abolished.

In conclusion, curfews should be abolished from towns because it has demonstrated ineffectiveness in decreased juvenile crime rated and its weakness. In my opinion, towns should be more concerned in create more extracurricular activities instead of set curfews. The only way to decrease the crime rate is keeping teens busy. Instead of keeping teens off the streets, towns should find a way to keep them busy and something different to commit crime.   

 

 

My Favorite Stores

         There are many specials places. However, there are two stores that I like a lot. These two stores are Express and American Eagle. Express is located in Garden State Plaza, is a big and nice store, well organized and very clean and novelty. I like because its clothes are very nice comfortable and good quality. Even though the clothes are very expensive, are always on sale and they mail you a lot of coupons with good offers. In this way you can save some money and at the same time be well dress. If I want to make a gift always I go there because I have they credit card. I can find the size I need, casual, sport and formal clothes.

         The other store is American Eagle. It is also located in garden state plaza, near to Express. It is also one of my favorite store for it good prices, novelty, and the quality of it clothes. The store is very nice and well organized. The clothes are sport and I can find whatever size I need don’t matter what kind of clothes I’m looking for. In this store I can find the Christmas, the birthdays, and whatever occasions gifts, for my sisters, my mother, friends and my girlfriend. They get very happy and me too because I gave them a good and nice gift and at the same time I could save some money.

Technology Disaster

 

In our days technology is getting better day a day. Every single day technology systems help us making our life easier and comfortable. However, sometimes that could become in a problem instead in a solution. Have you through about what happen when a technology product doesn’t work well? Last weekend I went to Brooklyn, New York with my girlfriend and my brother in law to a party. We went using a GPS because we didn’t know how to get there.

 

When we were ready to go to the party, I set up the GPS with the address and our nightmare starts. The party was planed to start at 8:00 pm. That’s why we part at 7:00 pm from my girlfriend’s house. First, the GPS apparently choose the longest and more difficult way to get there. As result, we spent too much time driving to get there. As a result we arrived there at 10:00 pm. The navigator system constantly has problem and addressed us for the wrong way. In many cases, the GPS said to make a right or left in wrong way. Even more, the navigator system asked us to turn in sites where there wasn’t way to do it. The GPS addressed in a trip that look like a horror movie. Even thought we had to drive a large distance, we got to get to the party. Late, but we finally arrived.

 

Technology products can make our life easier and more comfortable. However, when they don’t work correctly, they can become a single task in a nightmare, as happened in this trip that I never will forget. We had planned that night we spent a wonderful time and instead of that we get two traffic tickets. One was for a wrong turn and the other one for driving in a wrong way.
